On Friday, December 10, 2021, the President signed into law: S. 610, the “Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act,” which delays the 2% Medicare sequestration cut until March 31, 2022, and provides a 1% reduction in the Medicare sequester cut from April 1, 2022 to June 30, 2022, in addition to other changes to Medicare payments.
While we avoided the devastating 10% Cut to Medicare Reimbursement, many medical groups and health systems will still need to make sense of the E&M changes implemented in 2021, and look at ways they can re-align their physician compensation arrangements and operational expenses accordingly.
